CARE AND MAINTENANCE
To retain the beauty and value of your furniture, proper care and cleaning should be maintained to enhance the long-lasting comfort and durability. Humidity levels should be between 30 - 50%. Temperatures should be kept between 60 - 80° F (15 - 27° C).
For Wood Products:
For Daily Cleaning, simply wipe with a clean, damp, soft cloth, moving in the same direction as the grain.
For regular cleaning, use a non-wax liquid polish for wood furniture and wipe in the same direction as the grain with a clean, dry, soft cloth.
For a better and lasting finish, the use of desk pads is recommended to prevent any possible damage caused by sharp objects. If using a protective glass top, place spacer pads under the glass to allow the wood to breathe.
Do not drag objects across the surface of the furniture as it will scratch the surface. Simply lift the objects to remove from work surface.
Do not expose the furniture to extreme heat, sunlight, cold, or fluctuating humidity as it may change the color of the wood finish.
Do not expose the furniture to harsh solvents (nail polish remover, alcohol, oils, etc) and do not leave any vinyl/plastic items on the wood as it may cause deterioration of the surface finish.
For Melamine/Laminate Products:
For daily cleaning, use mild soap and water and wipe in the direction of the grain with a dry, soft cloth.
Care & Maintenance of Leather:
Leather is naturally a low maintenance material. Dust with a soft, dry cloth to maintain its natural beauty.
To remove stains, use a soft damp cloth with a very mild soap. Gently rub the stain until removed, then wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
Avoid contact with solvents, ammonia, abrasives, detergents, cleaners, etc.
Drawer suspensions should be lubricated every 6 months at the bearing housing using a light petroleum based gel lubricant.
Lubricate hinges annually with a minimal amount of light machine oil.
All connections and screws should be checked every 6 months to ensure that they are tight.
Adjusting and Moving Furniture:
Make sure that all pieces of furniture are level and on the same plane. Unleveled components may make doors misalign and drawers not operate smoothly. Glides located on the bottom of the furniture can be adjusted up or down to balance out uneven floors. No furniture should be moved alone. Some furniture requires disassembly before moving. It is always best to have an experienced installer move your furniture, if needed.
Never push, slide, drag, or drop this furniture. Doing so could lead to bent glides, broken and/or split wood or veneer, floor and carpet damage, or personal injury. Always re-level the desk after moving, placing items on the desktop, and after loading drawers. Everything is inspected before shipping; however, some alignments may be compromised during transit. These are usually simple to readjust.
All electrical installations should be performed by qualified personel adhering to the applicable codes and regulations for the specific location of installation.
Spills and Repairs:
* Liquid spills should be removed immediately with a soft, dry cloth, using a blotting action. Failure to do so may result in staining on leather products or deterioration of surface finish on wood products.
* Inspect your furniture annually for dents, dings, scratches, and other damages and have them repaired to maintain the beauty of your product.
* Repairs can be made to almost any product. Please contact a qualified repair technician for assistance in repairing your wood, melamine, or leather product.
